Australian Residential Group (ARG) is a rapidly growing Australian property business, offering services across project marketing, residential sales and property management. In the last couple of years ARG has grown from one office in Queensland to four offices in two States, and will shortly have offices in another two States.

ARG sought the expertise of Harrisons to assist filling the gap in the absence of their own specialist HR resource.

Solution

Harrisons provides an outsources HR function and team for ARG, including conducting a HR Health Check, developing a HR Plan, and providing a dedicated Human Resources Manager, supported by a team of HR specialists including a Supervising Consultant, to implement the HR Plan and address ongoing HR management requirements.

During the first 3 months, the framework for HR systems and procedures was developed, including:

Undertaking an HR health check and developing an HR Strategic Plan
Award and pay audit completed
HR and WHS Policies and procedures updated implemented throughout the business, including training managers and employees
Position Descriptions developed for all roles
Induction program developed
Performance review and development process implemented
Core skills training developed and roll out commenced, eg harassment & discrimination, leadership, delegation & supervision etc.
Advising, coaching and training managers in the management of employees, including disciplinary processes as required
Conducted an employee engagement survey, and implementing strategies to improve
Implemented a sexual harassment prevention and response plan (as required by the WHS Act (Qld))

With the major foundations in place, the HR Manager has continued to build upon these foundations, such as:

Creating and implementing a structured annual remuneration review process
Creating and implementing of monthly team awards and reinvigoration of monthly team meetings
