Brisbane Camperland, a 40+-year-old family-owned business is one of Australia’s leading retailers of Jayco Caravans. With three sites around Brisbane and over 60 employees, they felt the need to have a professional human resources and workplace health and safety plan to take good care of their people and culture in alignment with their family values while also ensuring that their employer and safety obligations were being met.

Although having a previous internal human resource and safety professional, Brisbane Camperland had been referred to Harrison HR through a colleague and decided to outsource the services to a professional specialist utilising our outsourced/insourced HR Team service.

Solution

Brisbane Camperland insourced their HR Team from Harrison HR including a dedicated on-site (2 to 3 days per week) Human Resources and Workplace Health and Safety specialist to meet their people and culture business needs, which included responsibility for:

Gaining a solid understanding of Brisbane Camperland, its business goals, and HR management needs, utilising our comprehensive HR Health Check service.
Developing and implementing a 12-month HR Plan.
Conducting an award and pay audit as well as reviewing employment contracts to ensure legislative compliance.
Delivering induction and training sessions for managers and employees on recruitment, probation, and onboarding processes.
Advising, coaching, and training managers in the performance management of employees including feedback, guidance, and award compliance.
Reviewing and developing HR and WHS policies and procedures and implementing them throughout all sites including training managers and employees.
Coordinating recruitment and induction activities and coaching managers.
Reviewing existing Workplace Health & Safety training records, policies, and procedures including being part of toolbox talks and guiding managers.
Conducting Workplace Health & Safety on their sites and ensuring items as inspected, in place and managed accordingly.
