Queensland Positive People is a not-for-profit, peer-based advocacy and service organisation that provides support services to people recently diagnosed, and living with HIV.  With a multi-disciplinary team who provide a range of services including social connection and emotional support, health navigation for diagnosis, treatment and care, practical assistance in accessing available support services, information, emergency funding and testing.  Due to significant growth over the past 5 years, the workforce consists of approximately 43 people working from offices in Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton and the Gold Coast.

Due to ongoing business growth, QPP identified the need for ongoing professional HR management advice and support.

Solution

QPP selected our HR Team Essentials service whereby Harrisons providesa highly experienced team of HR professionals to manage the HR needs of QPP, which includes a dedicated and consistent Senior Consultant working with them one (1) day per fortnight. As well, QPP has access to our HR Hotline service where they can call at any time for advice on a specific HR issue.

Harrisons provided an initial HR Health Check, conducted an Employee Engagement Survey and developed a HR Plan identifying key areas to prioritise for the organisation.

In addition, Harrisons’ HR Team Essentials service has provided valuable:

  • Leadership coaching and performance management workshops.
  • Fair Work and legislative compliance audits including Award interpretation.
  • Co-development of essential policies and procedures.
  • Mentoring QPP’s Leadership Team on HR management best practices.
  • Supporting the development of QPP’s wellbeing program following employee feedback.
  • Addressing Safe Work Australia’s identified psychosocial hazards.
