The Ausdeck Group of companies has multiple brands and sites that manufacture and supply the roofing sector.

Due to business growth and national expansion, Ausdeck Group identified a need for a professional human resource management framework, advice and support to improve its workplace culture and ensure compliance with employment legislation.

Although employing well cover 100 people, Ausdeck Group previously had no human resources professional on their team.

Solution

Ausdeck Group insourced a Human Resources Manager from Harrison Human Resources to undertake this important role 3-days per week, which included responsibility for:

  • Gaining a solid understanding of Ausdeck, its business goals and HR management needs, including coordinating an Employee Engagement Survey and conducting a HR Health Check.
  • Developing and implementing a 12-month HR Plan.
  • Delivery of induction and training sessions for managers and employees on human resources, workplace health and safety and operations.
  • Advising, coaching and training managers in the performance management of employees including disciplinary processes and award compliance.
  • Reviewing and developing HR and WHS policies and procedures, and implementing throughout the Ausdeck Group of companies including training managers and employees.
  • Coordinating recruitment and induction activities and coaching managers on same.
