CLAIRE HARRISON
Founder and Managing Director
Claire personally leads Harrisons’ work with not-for-profit and community services organisations. She has held a Non-Executive Board Director roles with a large NFP and community organisations, and has advised numerous community sector boards and CEOs on HR strategy, risk, and large-scale organisational restructures — across organisations both large and small. She understands the realities of the sector: the pressures of government funding, fundraising and philanthropy, the complexity of the SCHADS Award, and the constant challenge of delivering so much on a shoestring.
Claire brings over 20 years of senior HR experience, including HR Director roles in multinational organisations such as BHP, and ABC Learning and Redland City Council. A Certified Practising Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute (FCPHR) and AHRI Queensland State Councillor, she holds tertiary qualifications in accounting, management and law, a Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety, and has completed Executive Education at Columbia Business School. She is a Mental Health First Aider and author of two books on HR leadership and consulting.
Harrisons has supported community organisations across the full spectrum — from small compliance projects to fully outsourced HR, through to large and complex employee relations and change initiatives. That range, combined with Claire’s board-level governance perspective and genuine commitment to workplace wellbeing, makes Harrisons a trusted partner for CEOs, boards and management committees, and P&C leaders balancing mission, funding and workforce demands.
