Carinbundi, a not-for-profit disability support provider based in Bundaberg, is committed to delivering high-quality services in a complex, high-intensity care environment. As part of their organisational growth and commitment to internal promotion, Carinbundi recognised a need to strengthen the leadership capability of their management team. 

The organisation had promoted a number of team members into leadership roles but identified skill gaps in areas such as delegation, feedback, communication, and managing performance. These gaps were creating increased pressure on senior leadership, inconsistent team dynamics, and challenges in sustaining a positive workplace culture.

Solution

Harrisons partnered with Carinbundi to deliver a 3-month Leadership Development Program designed specifically for leaders working in high-pressure disability service environments. 

The program included: 

  • Six interactive workshops covering key leadership topics such as communication, feedback, accountability, time management, coaching, and sustainable leadership. 
  • Applied learning tasks between sessions to embed learning in the workplace. 
  • Team-building activities to strengthen trust and collaboration. 
  • 1:1 coaching for two key leaders to support their individual development. 
  • Pre- and post-program assessments including a leadership style self-assessment. 

The program was delivered in a blended format, combining in-person and online sessions, allowing flexibility and relevance for frontline managers.
